Room - Emma Donoghue Creepy and disturbing novel, that I think will stay with me for quite a while. It's very effectively told from a child's point of view; the horror of the situation was more apparent to me for not being portrayed in explicit detail. Jack's perspective makes this book interesting in a way that a first-person account just wouldn't be for me.The two halves of the book (inside the room and then outside it) work well together. Each lets you learn different things about the character of 'Ma', filtered through Jack's limited understanding of what is really happening.Room is not a book you 'enjoy', but it is a thought-provoking and a worthwhile read.
